Web Design Challenge

I am a self-taught front-end developer, but I don't always have the chance to work with fancy layout and web designs. On top of that, I have no idea on how to make designs that look good.

So, I'd like to give myself a challenge: learn web design by analysing the layout pattern of awesome websites, use the principle I learned to make a design, and imeplement the design. I will write about the process every three day (hopefully).
